PlaNet was the first New Zealand wide internet service provider, beginning
life 19 years ago exactly in December 1992. The latest Consumer (retail
watchdog) report on customer ratings of their ISP put PlaNet in the top 3,
for the third year since 2009 but not for the first time, the first time was
in 1998 when PlaNet was rated by Consumer number one ISP in New Zealand.
But life is not a pop affair, its meaning is life itself, survival, and to
that end PlaNet's aims have been and will remain:
1. Sustainability before growth
2. By PlaNet people for all people
3. Self-reliance for all whose values transcend money 4. Small is beautiful
and cooperation is natural 5. Love of imperfection as the gateway to higher
understanding
The PlaNet (and KC Internet, our wholesale company) crew get together today
to celebrate another year, a tough year but a productive one. We wish you
all will make the very best of things, the so-called negative included -
infact especially the negatives - for the holiday season and the year
beyond, remembering that small but fine gold nuggets almost always are only
yielded after hard work on a lot of coarse dirt.
